FAQs

Is Pantry Posies a non-profit?

In effort to be transparent, Pantry Posies is not a non-profit, rather a budding small social enterprise focusing on social change by way of flower access in conjunction with supporting our local food access systems here in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Pantry Posies is a socially responsible small business rooted in equity and accessibility contributing complimentary flowers during the growing season to partnering food access resources and extending sales of fresh flowers out to the general public. Pantry Posies contributes a portion of the proceeds from the sale of these items to support local food and flower access.

Where can I access complimentary flowers?

We are grateful to the following groups for welcoming us this season and for embracing flower access;

Good Neighbor Food Panty in Franconia,
Bethlehem Food Pantry,
Bethlehem Lil Free Pantry,
Bethlehem Community Dinners,
All Saints Community Cupboard,
Community Cookouts in Littleton,
Littleton Food Pantry,
Littleton Area Mutual Aid,
Littleton Area Seniors and Friends,
Taproot and Bent Fork Farm via farm share CSA,
AHEAD with McKee Inn,
and Copper Cannon Camp

Will you add more access points for complimentary flowers?

In time, with consideration of capacity, we would love to grow our flower access program! If you coordinate a community meal, pantry, or food access resource in the White Mountain region and are interested in being added to the distribution list, please contact us! We’d love to chat and see what we can work out.

Where can I purchase fresh flowers?

Be sure to sign up for our newsletter where we post opportunities for pre-orders and pop-ups and keep you updated on what is happening in regional flower access! And, if you have a special request in mind, please do reach out. We do our best to meet inquires with fair consideration and appreciate your patience as we are at the whim of Mother Nature and her timeline.

When is your growing season?

May-September

The first fresh flowers we offer are tulips. We anticipate their arrival in early May- but we all know Mother Nature is boss around here. We plant out annual cut flower starts at the end of May with anticipated production by late July with the season wrapping up when the frost hits- early fall. We plant in successions so that we can have bundles of mixed annuals throughout the season.

Can we come by and see the garden?

From time to time we host open-hours at the garden in Easton, NH where pre-orders may be picked up and on-site shopping may be done-supply and production pending. This is announced in our emailed newsletters. Entry into the gardens is by appointment only and on special occasion as this space is also a privately owned home and in constant working order with hoses, tools and all the pests that come along with gardens and the great outdoors. For the safety of all, we like any visits to be pre-arranged and considerate of both people and pollinators.

Do you offer you-picking to the general public?

At this time, we do not have that offering at Pantry Posies and hope with expansion we might be able to some day!

How does Pantry Posies support local food access?

We connect pantries with local farmers, gardeners, neighbors and offer assistance in distributing small-scale gleaned (left-over) produce and flowers. We’ve been known to pick up a basket of freshly-picked produce off a porch and leave some fresh posies behind in its place.

We were able to successfully complete our 4th season of pantry posies distribution in 2024! With a portion of the proceeds from sales we were able to contribute to filling the Bethlehem Lil Free Pantry, supply fresh locally sourced produce and ice cream to community meals, provide a PO Box for a newly formed mutual aid organization (Littleton Area Mutual Aid) and a donation to support arts in our region by way of a mural project. Not to mention the generosity shown during the snack and personal care items drives hosted at area small businesses (Thanks Super Secret Ice Cream, Marimo Dance Studio and True North Salon and Day Spa) and community giving tree and Fancy Coffee Fridays at Maia Papaya with raffle prizes for participants! Y’all were so busy with us!

Our expectations were exceeded in 2024 due to your engagement! We supported the Lil Free Seed Library at the Littleton Food Cooperative in January 2024 in providing them with a huge box of new envelopes for seeds!

Do you deliver flowers?

For now, case by case basis. If we host a pre-order and you wish to share the joy of fresh flowers with a regional neighbor or friend, shoot us an email during our growing season and we will see what we might be able to do.
